TOP 10 ST LOUIS SKINS

 

Ah – lucky Lou! You know the drill – it’s a shallow dip top ten or top ten on the spot for the game designs or ‘skins’ of St Louis, second top girl of Azur Lane. All art is fair use for the purpose of depicting the skins as they appear from the official game designs featured in the fan wiki.

And yes – I had to cheat to get to ten, padding it out with entries from art or cosplay, as she only has five official skins. For shame, Azur Lane – one less than Atago!

 

A-TIER (TOP TIER)

 

 

(1) LUXURIOUS WHEELS

 

I tend to regard this as a de facto Race Queen design – it got her second place.

It also gets the lion’s share of her art and cosplay

Yes – she scores my Sciamano ranking from the art of her, one of my favorite Sciamano pieces. Other artists for this skin include Liang Xing and Wickellia. There’s also a classic image of her in this skin in the fan wiki gallery.

As for cosplay of this skin, there’s cosplay of her by two in my holy trinity – Yummychiyo and Hane Ame. Once again, Hane Ame rocks St Louis cosplay in almost all of her skins.

 

 

(2) DEFAULT (STANDARD)

 

Her standard design, albeit more resembling Race Queen than naval uniform.

Yes – the Hane Ame cosplay rocks.

 

B-TIER (HIGH TIER)

 

 

(3) BLUE & WHITE POTTERY

 

Essentially a little like a pseudo-qipao design. I like the lines.

And yes – it gets a Hane ranking for Hane Ame cosplay.

 

 

(4) SPIRITS IN THE SNOW

 

A pseudo-kimono design – and one showing a little too much skin than I would have thought for a kimono or winter design.

And yes – Hane Ame cosplay!

 

 

(5) HOLY KNIGHT’S RESPLENDENCE (PARTY)

 

The only reason that this doesn’t rank higher – even in the top three – is that it does not appear to be an official skin but rather a special limited skin. Kind of a cross between her Luxurious Wheels and standard design (and she has silver rather than blue hair).

Yummychiyo rocks it in cosplay.

 

 

(6) CHINESE NEW YEAR SKIN

 

Similar to the previous entry as seemingly a special limited skin rather than an official one. Interestingly, she has silver hair here rather than her usual blue hair, matching her outfit.

And yes – Hane Ame cosplay.

 

(7) AN AFTERNOON ON THE LIDO DECK

 

Or Lido for short, I guess – essentially a recent swimswear design and one a little too racy for me to include even as the promotional game art.

Sadly no cosplay of it.

 

X-TIER (WILD TIER)

 

(8) RACE QUEEN

 

You know I love a Race Queen design so normally this would rank higher…but it’s not an official or special skin. Instead, I’ve only seen it in cosplay by Hane Ame, where it seems to be a Race Queen version closely modelled on her standard design (with a few variations).

 

(9) LINGERIE

 

Yes – it’s St Louis in white-blue lingerie, as modelled by Hane Ame.

 

(10) BIKINI

 

There’s a whole range of designs for her in the Azur Lane fan wiki art gallery, but I’ll go with the basic bikini design of her in Azur Lane’s version of the Washington’s Crossing painting.
